A notice regarding compatibility issue with the EOS M6 and availability of firmware update service (Model B011 for Canon)

Dear users and potential purchasers of Tamron interchangeable lenses.

Thank you for using Tamron products.
We wish to notify you that the following interchangeable lens for Canon EOS M series, which have not updated firmware when there was the firmware update service announcement below, do not function properly when used on the EOS M6 which went on sale recently in Japan.

Serial number

  1. Serial numbers which have produced after January 1st, 2017
    Firmware update will not be required for those lenses (serial numbers).
    Please check the serial number from the link below.

The improvements expected as a result

  1. When used in combination with the Canon EOS M5 / M6, behavior, where power is turned off or is not turned on, making it impossible to use the camera when attaching the lens, has been improved.
